Photo backup

This section explains the consent policy for accessing and syncing photos or media files using the MyPhones Agent app.

✅ Purpose of Photo & Media Sync

The Agent app can back up and sync selected media files (such as images or videos) from the monitored device. This is useful for:

  • Photo history tracking for parents or organizations

  • Secure media backup

  • Reviewing visual activity from the device

📄 Scope of Collected Data

When enabled, the app may access:

  • Photos and videos from the device’s media folders

  • File metadata: name, size, date created, date modified

  • Thumbnail previews (not full-resolution by default)

  • Device ID and upload session ID

  • File path or storage location (internal/external)

  1. Media access is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled.

  2. Consent is logged with a timestamp and user confirmation.

  3. Users are informed that files will be read from the device storage.

  4. The app requests READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE or MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 11+).

  5. Only selected file types (e.g., .jpg, .png, .mp4) are processed.

  6. Media uploads are encrypted before being stored in the cloud.

  7. Files are not shared with third parties.

  8. The Admin account can choose to delete synced files at any time.

  9. Device owners may pause or stop photo sync remotely.

  10. The app does not modify or delete original files on the device.

Access to private media files must be done with informed consent. Do not enable photo/media access on any device without full authorization from its owner.

Misuse of media access features may lead to privacy violations. Always comply with applicable data protection laws.
