⚠️ Warning about hiding the app icon
Hiding the app icon is often used when:
The parent does not want the user (e.g., a child) to know the app is installed.
They aim to minimize the risk of accidental deletion or tampering.
However, we do not recommend using hiding as a stealth or spying method for the following reasons:
✅ Transparency and ethics: MyPhones is designed for responsible monitoring with consent, not for secret surveillance. Hiding the icon may violate local laws or app store policies.
🧒 Accidental removal: If the child (or end user) sees the app and doesn’t understand its purpose, they may delete it. In this case, hiding the icon could reduce that risk, but also prevent open communication.
⚠️ Detection by antivirus or system tools: Attempting to hide an app fully may trigger warnings or even block installation on some Android systems.
❌ Not truly hidden: Even if you hide the icon via launcher settings, the app will still appear in the list of installed apps under:
Settings → Apps → MyPhones
👉 Recommendation:
Instead of hiding the app:
Educate the user (especially children) about its purpose.
Use built-in OS protections, such as app lock, admin mode, or disable app removal using Device Owner/Enterprise mode, if applicable.
