Audio Stream (Ambient Voice Recording)

This section outlines the consent requirements for the Ambient Audio Recording feature in the MyPhones Agent app.

✅ Purpose of Audio Recording

The ambient voice recording feature allows the device to capture short audio samples using the built-in microphone. This feature is designed for:

  • Environmental monitoring (e.g. workplace safety)

  • Child safety and protection

  • Incident investigation with timestamped audio clips

📄 Scope of Collected Data

When enabled, the Agent app may collect:

  • Audio recordings from the device microphone

  • Timestamps of each audio clip

  • Device ID and session ID

  • Audio duration and file size metadata

  1. Ambient audio recording is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled by the account owner.

  2. Consent is recorded with timestamp and user IP when the feature is activated.

  3. Users are informed that microphone access is involved.

  4. Audio recordings are limited in length (e.g., 10–60 seconds per clip).

  5. Recordings are triggered manually or through scheduled intervals.

  6. The app requires RECORD_AUDIO Android permission.

  7. Audio files are encrypted and stored securely in the cloud.

  8. Only the authorized Admin account can access or download the recordings.

  9. Audio data is never streamed live or shared with third parties.

  10. A visible or logged indicator must confirm recording activity when active.

Recording audio without proper consent may be illegal in many jurisdictions. Always ensure that the device owner is fully informed and agrees to enable this feature.

Unauthorized use of audio monitoring features may violate privacy or wiretapping laws depending on your country. Use this feature responsibly and only in compliance with local regulations.
