This Data Retention Policy describes how long MyPhones.app ("we", "our", "us") retains personal and device-related data collected through the MyPhones Agent and Admin apps ("Services").
1. Retention Philosophy
We aim to retain only the minimum amount of data necessary to deliver our services effectively, legally, and securely. Users have control over what is collected and may request deletion at any time.
2. Retention Periods by Data Type
User account and login info
Until account is deleted
Device metadata
Up to 12 months or until device removed
GPS location logs
30 to 180 days (configurable)
Call/SMS history
90 days (default), user-configurable
Media (photos, audio)
Up to 6 months
Installed apps list
Last snapshot only (updated periodically)
App usage statistics
Up to 90 days
Diagnostic logs
30 days
3. User Controls
Users can delete their account or data at any time via the Admin app or by contacting support.
Users may configure the retention window for GPS, Call Logs, and other types individually in app settings.
4. Automatic Purging
Our servers periodically purge expired records based on the configured retention policies.
Once deleted, data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
5. Backup and Recovery
Backups are maintained for system reliability and disaster recovery.
Backups are encrypted and stored for no more than 30 days.
6. Exceptions
Data may be retained longer to comply with legal obligations or at the user’s request.
We reserve the right to retain anonymized metadata for analytics.
