Device (state) snapshot
🧾 Device Snapshot Consent Policy
This section defines the consent policy for collecting a device snapshot — a summary of device state and settings — using the MyPhones Agent app.
✅ Purpose of Device Snapshot Collection
Device snapshot data helps:
Analyze technical state of the device (battery, storage, network)
Assist in diagnostics and troubleshooting
Provide contextual data for other logs (GPS, photo, etc.)
📄 Scope of Collected Data
When enabled, the Agent app may collect:
Battery level and charging status
Storage capacity and available space
Network type and connectivity status
Screen on/off state and screen lock status
Device model, OS version, language, and uptime
Timezone and system time
SIM state and mobile operator name
🔐 User Consent Requirements
Device snapshot collection is enabled by default as a core diagnostic feature.
Users are informed that only non-personal, system-level metadata is collected.
Data is updated periodically (e.g., hourly or during key events).
No sensitive content (messages, files, photos) is accessed in this process.
All collected snapshot data is encrypted and securely stored.
The Admin account may review device state via dashboard.
Data is not shared with third parties.
Users can disable advanced diagnostic collection from settings.
This feature requires no special Android permissions.
Device snapshot data may be used to enhance sync logic or detect issues.
⚠️ Legal and Ethical Notice
While device snapshot data does not include personal content, users should still be informed when background diagnostics are enabled. Transparency is key to ethical monitoring.
This feature helps maintain app performance and support — not to spy or gather private information.
