GPS location

This section explains the GPS tracking feature in the MyPhones Agent app and the user's consent related to location data collection.

✅ Purpose of Location Tracking

The GPS feature collects the geographical location of the monitored device to provide:

  • Real-time tracking of the device's location

  • Historical route analysis and timeline

  • Geofencing alerts (if enabled)

  • Safety and coordination for family or organization use cases

📄 Scope of Collected Data

When enabled, the Agent app may collect:

  • Latitude and longitude coordinates

  • Timestamp of location updates

  • Accuracy of GPS fix (in meters)

  • Device ID and tracking session ID

  • Movement speed and altitude (if available)

  1. Location tracking is optional and must be explicitly enabled by the account owner.

  2. Consent is recorded at the time GPS collection is activated.

  3. Users are informed that location access is continuous (background mode).

  4. Users can disable GPS tracking at any time via the Admin app or Control Panel.

  5. The app requires Android permissions: ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION.

  6. Data is encrypted and only accessible to the authorized account.

  7. If used for live tracking, duration and visibility must be pre-defined.

  8. GPS data is stored with a timestamp and device identifier for traceability.

  9. Data is not shared with third parties unless required by law.

  10. The user must be the legal owner or have authorization to track the device.

Unauthorized tracking of another person’s device without consent may violate privacy laws in your country. Always ensure legal compliance when enabling location tracking.
